Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Rise early in Arusha, known as Tanzania's safari gateway, where your personal guide will greet you either at your hotel or Kilimanjaro Airport. As you journey into Tarangire National Park, the landscape gradually opens into open savannahs shadowed by iconic baobab trees.

Once inside, enjoy your first game drive, with wildlife congregating near the Tarangire River a vital oasis attracting majestical elephants, graceful giraffes, and dozens of bird species. Your eyes might also catch sight of stealthy leopards, powerful buffaloes, or playful zebras and wildebeests. A picnic in the bush offers a chance to pause and absorb the ambiance the calls of birds, grasses whispering in the wind, and a distant lion's roar.

With afternoon light softening the landscape, you’ll make your way to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Here, the views shift dramatically from fertile farms and local villages to forested slopes and highland plateaus. The Maasai way of life visibly thrives in harmony with the land; families raising cattle in vibrant shuka cloth, the scent of sagebrush on the breeze.

As the road descends into Southern Serengeti, prepare for your first glimpse of the legendary plains vast, untamed, and alive. This region’s abundance of wildlife becomes instantly apparent: herds of wildebeest, thundering zebra, distant predators streaking through sun-drenched grass. Arrive at Sero tented Camp, where your comfortable and tented retreat puts you in the heart of the action for the next two nights.

The buzz of life is palpable with predators drawn to the spectacle, creating unforgettable natural drama where survival and new beginnings unfold.

Beyond migration, Ndutu’s game is diverse: graceful elands, browsing giraffes, content elephants, and, if fortune favours, big cats on the hunt. Your expert guide will craft safe, rewarding detours to prime viewing spots culminating in a serene return to your camp for a rich dinner and deep rest.

Your picnic in the crater offers both nourishment and the privilege to witness one of the planet’s densest wildlife zones.
